Look what we dug up!

As I was recently scrolling through the Internet, I came across a review from a few years ago that we had never seen and I thought that we could share this ladies comment with ya'll! It's always wonderful to hear what our guest have to say!

"Emma's is a perfect place for paddlers. There is plenty of room for you gear and a secure place for your kayaks. Don't be deceived by a map! Emma's is as close as you want to be to everything. Plus, complimentary beverages, yes, all beverages. And the breakfast is a real, full home-cooked plate full of hot food, not some silly buffet of little breakfast snacks that won't get you through the morning. I have looked them over since I've been here and I am very happy that we picked Emma's. If they don't have it; you don't need it. This place has it all with no hidden charges. For a small fee, they'll even pack you a soft cooler of sandwiches and drinks for your hike on Cumberland Island or day on the water. Review from Emma's back porch using their Internet connection. :)

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY AMERICA!

St. Marys hosted yet another wonderful 4th of July celebration. The day is always started off by a 5k & 10k run @ 7am sharp. We had some guest here at Emma's that decided to participate and wound up placing 2nd. Congratulations Judy & Tom.

The streets are lined with so many neat arts/crafts & wonderful food booths all day long. From plants to purses, you name it, we probably had it. We could not have asked for better weather! It was sunny, breezy and just down right PERFECT!
The fireworks were amazing, once again! They usually kick off at about 9:30pm and last about 20 minutes!

All and all.....another wonderful day in St. Marys !

Cumberland Island National Seashore Trip 2010

Fred Boyles, Park Superintendent, took a group of local business owners over to the island for the day to introduce their new "Land & Legacies tour of Cumberland Island". The tour was given by Fred and he took us around the south end of the island in a 15 passenger van (air conditioned)to see the ruins of Dungeness and then worked our way up to the north end of the island to get a better look at the Plum Orchard Mansion, The First African Baptist Church and we were also able to enjoy a nice little trip to the beach of Cumberland Island.

GOODBYE WINTER

We had a couple of weeks of some really cold weather here in St. Marys. We are used to wearing flip flops and sandals through the winters, but not this year. Mother nature threw us a curve ball and made us pull out our winter coats! We are glad to see that the freezing nights and mornings are behind us. HURRY UP SPRING!
